Does my phone support eSIM?
Most recent phones do: iPhone XS and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Google Pixel 3 and later. The phone must be carrier-unlocked. Dial *#06#: if an EID number shows, your phone supports eSIM.
Do I lose my own number?
No. Your normal SIM stays in the phone for calls and SMS; the eSIM is used for data. Turn off roaming on your normal SIM to avoid charges.
When does the plan start?
For most plans validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, not at purchase, so you can buy and install days before you travel.
Can I top up?
Yes, most plans can be topped up in the Airalo app or website on the same eSIM.
